Hello, My Name is Monica
Bilingual Pediatric SLP
Infant Program Director

Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist, native Spanish speaker, and the founder of Hablemos Inc. I’m also a proud mom of four, and both my professional training and personal experience deeply shape the way I support children and families.

I am a first-generation immigrant who grew up between Tijuana and San Ysidro, navigating life, school, and healthcare across borders and cultures. Growing up, I witnessed my parents struggle to find culturally and linguistically appropriate services for our family. Those experiences stayed with me and continue to fuel my commitment to ensuring families feel seen, understood, and supported in their preferred language.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from San Diego State University, along with a Bilingual Certificate in the field. Before founding Hablemos Inc., I worked in school districts serving preschool-aged children with IEPs and supporting families through the transition from Early Start services. Today, as a San Diego Regional Center vendor, I specialize in working with infants and toddlers during some of the most important years of development.

My passion for this work began early in life. Growing up with siblings with hearing loss and deafness, I witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact of early intervention, strong family involvement, and professionals who truly believe in a child’s potential. That experience continues to guide my approach today.

I believe therapy is most effective when families feel empowered, respected, and supported. My work is rooted in collaboration, relationship-based care, and practical strategies that fit naturally into daily routines. I deeply value being a trusted resource for families, helping them navigate systems, ask questions, and advocate confidently for their children.

At Hablemos Inc., everything we do is guided by connection, cultural humility, and a deep respect for each family’s unique journey. It is an honor to walk alongside families as their children grow, communicate, and thrive.

WE STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITY BY STRENGTHENING OUR CHILDREN
